Portland Oregon's thrillingly raucous Filmed by Bike Festival is the West Coast's premier festival of bike-themed movie shorts. It is a Portland favorite and has sold out every year. Deeply plotted bike love stories, dreams of a world without cars and stories of bikers' triumph over cars fill the silver screen for 3 nights. A celebration of bike culture around the world.
Filmed by bike happens only once a year in Portland, Oregon. This year the festival is April 13-15th at the Clinton Street Theater.

2008 Filmed by Bike CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Sixth Annual Filmed by Bike is open for entries of bike-themed film shorts (8 minutes or under).
    Deadline is March 8th, 2008.
Selected films will be screened on April 2008 in Portland, Oregon.

            SUBMISSION TIPS
EDIT! Most pieces we get are 8 minutes and it's way too long.
This festival is all about short shorts. Sometimes, it's the 1:45 piece that's our favorite.
You can capture the essence of an establishing shot in seconds. Hone in.
    DON'T BE SO LITERAL
The festival is Filmed by Bike. That doesn't mean you need to film while riding your bike.
If your idea is to ride around town and show us what you see while you ride your bike, it will bore us to hell and will not make it into the festival.
    HOME MOVIES SUCK
We have no interest in unedited YouTube-quality home movies. There is no way they will make the cut.
NO LONG PIECES - WE MEAN IT
If it is over 8 minutes, we'll automatically reject it. No exceptions.
        Edit. Then edit some more.
    GO SHORTY
Why did we create a festival all about movie shorts?
        Because we love short movies.
Keep it short and you have a better chance of getting in because your movie will probably be much, much better.
